This tour combines amazing natural beauty of Konavle Valley, world class wines, rich history and superb traditional food!
Only short drive from Dubrovnik(circa 30-40 min) on spectacular seaside road there is Konavle, a hidden gem , natural beauty compered to Chianti by many where wines have been made for centuries! Malvasija white wine is the king of whites and Plavac Mali of red but also some 30 other grape varieties makes unique wines. Today tour will involve visit to one winery and guided tasting of 4 wines, introduction to history of wine making and lots more!
After winery visit you will visit Sokol Grad.Sokol Grad is a large defensive medieval castle. It’s located in the hills above a village of Dunave, close to the Croatian-Bosnian border and commands truly spectacular views!
After that, we will go to local agro tourism farm for lunch, all products served there are made by the farm, guided tour of the farm, olive oil making explained, tasting of grappa and liquors and local “ arancini”-orange skin cooked in sugar!
Three course lunch to follow, big local speciality called “Peka”, an iron bell where meet and vegetable are cooked covered in fire for long time, fish or vegetarian options available too and wines with lunch made by the farm, white and red!
